Pupils from a Market Harborough school are hoping a song performed by them to celebrate the Queen's Diamond Jubilee will be sung across the country!


The Year Six girls from the QUEENLOGOMarket Harborough C of E Primary School feature on the song.


Already schools up and down the country have downloaded the song so they can use it as part of their Jubilee celebrations


A copy has also been sent to Buckingham Palace and each the pupils have received letters back on behalf of the Queen!

Harborough Police are appealing for wipolicetnesses after a 27-year-old man was attacked and robbed on St Mary's Road, Market Harborough at 1.30am on Bank Holiday Monday (May 7th).

The Connaught Road Post Office picked up the title after beating off competition from over 800 other shops nationwide.

Lollipops are to be handed out to revellers out in Market Harborough in a bid to cut down on late night violence.


The novel idea will be used in the town centre in the run-up to Christmas and New Year. The Harborough Community Safety Partnership is behind the move.

The big fundraiser in Lubenham on Sunday June 21st raised over £700.00  People were asked to make donations at the Jazz on The Green event with all monies raised going towards the upkeep of the village amenity.The Robert Smyth Soul and Jazz bands entertained the crowds.

Harborough Graffiti Concerns - April 2009

Police say they’re concerned at the increase in the amount of graffiti in Market Harborough.

Officers say they’ve been getting more and more reports of daubings in and around the town centre, mainly on derelict buildings.

They’ve pledged to try and track down those responsible as the cost of cleaning-up after the vandalism can run into hundreds of pounds.

Plans Unveiled For A Party In The Park - March 2009

Plans have been unveiled for a big Party In The Park here in Harborough this summer, to be hosted by HFM!

The ‘Rotary Rocks’ event will take place on Saturday July 4th at the Symington’s Rec.

Headlining will be one of the UK’s top Queen tribute bands – ‘The Champions’

They’ll be performances from local talent too.

It’s the Rotary Club of Market Harborough who are organising it…

Desborough Town Have An Auction! - March 2009

A big charity auction is to take place to raise cash for a local football club devastated by fire.

Dozens clubs up and down the country, from non-league to Premiership, have donated lots for the event in aid of Desborough Town.

The club house at their ground was destroyed in December’s fire.

Campaign For A New Boxing Club - March 2009

A former boxer who ran his own club here in Harborough is launching a campaign to get a new one opened up.

Joe Fitzpatrick, who was known as Joe Falcon in the ring, was in charge of the ‘three jays’ club in the 70s and 80s.

It was based off School Lane and then in what is now the Satellite Youth Centre off Farndon Road and had dozens of members attracted a number of big stars to town.  Click play to hear Joe speaking to Nick Shaw.

George Bellamy Has A Kidney Transplant - February 2009

Harborough seven year old George Bellamy has been given the ultimate gift – a new kidney.

The youngster, who goes to Ridgeway School, was diagnosed with chronic kidney failure when he was 16 months old..

Ever since has been on a cocktail of drugs and a special diet to deal with the condition, which gradually got worse.

His new kidney means all this can be relaxed, in effect giving George a new lease of life.

 The credit crunch has led to major sponsors pulling out, leaving volunteers at the Vulcan To The Sky Trust needing to raise a million pounds within the next few weeks.

If they can’t raise that, it’s feared the Cold War plane, the only one left flying in the world, will be grounded forever.

A major pledge campaign has now been launched…

Karen is currently receiving treatment for Breast Cancer, and has used her time off work to plan and design it to raise cash for Breakthrough Breast Cancer.

 Karen is a keen clay pigeon shooter and persuaded the blokes at her club near Northampton to bare all for the calendar, titled ‘Men and their Weapons’!
