Village Voices at Clipston
HFM meets the people of Clipston
On Wednesday April 14th, HFM went along to Clipston Village Hall to stage the first of ten Village Voices programmes as part of our commitment to being truly local.
HFMs Moley, Nick & Yvonne interviewed a number of villagers on topics affecting and reflecting village life.
Nine local groups were represented and topics included the local tennis club, the Women's Institute, Bell Ringing, Clipston Flower Club, UFO sightings and the Clipston Uncovered Calendar. We also heard a lot about the history of Clipston and the local school.
Also mentioned, was the local pre-school, which was recently awarded 'Outstanding' in all fourteen categories available.
The unanimous opinion was that the night had been a great success, especially as this was our first attempt at such an event.
Village Voices Administrator Barbara Burton, who has worked very hard to get the campaign off the ground, was delighted and said 'This bodes well for all future events, starting on the 28th at Kibworth.'
An edited version of the event will be broadcast on May 5th, between 5 & 6pm. This will be repeated on May 9th, between 10 & 11pm.
Here's NIck talking with ladies from the Clipston W.I. , whilst Paul from the Bulls Head looks on.
There are a lot of musicians in the area, and one of the proposals Paul from the Bulls Head is interested in is forming the Clipston Big Band. Musicians of all standards are welcome, why not get in touch!
