Market Harborough Christmas Fayre
The very first Christmas Fayre took place in Market Harborough on Friday December 5th 2014. After an announcement that the "Late Night Shopping" event was not to take place this year, a group got together, formed a committee and had 10 weeks to put on this event.
Thousands flocked to the town to enjoy the festivities throughout the town. There was an ice rink on the Square which proved a big hit with kids and adults alike. There was live entertainment on the sound stage at the top of the High street, and there were lots of refreshments on offer at a host of outlets.
Father Christmas was in his new grotto at the Old Grammer School where children were putting in their requests. Performers also roamed the town, with speciality acts and stilt walkers proving a big hit. Lots of shopping was also carried out at the many shops that were open on the night as well as at the variety of gift, food and craft stalls around the town.
The first Christmas Fayre has been declared a great success and it is hoped the event will be repeated next year.
