It's Official! Market Harborough has won the competition to be renamed Meerkat Harborough for the day as part of an advertising campaign for Compare the Market.
It will see us twinned with Alexandr the Meerkats home town of Meerkovo for the day and provide international publicity for our town and firmly put it on the map!
We came top of an on-line poll in the competition and have now been declared the official winner! The day in question is February 24th!
A spoof video has bee produced by campaigners behind Harborough's bid - it was so good it had to be edited until bosses behind the Meerkat ads were happy for it to be released! Click to see it!
